Bodog Poker Network Review
Positive on the Network
The Bodog network accepts US players. The software is functional with user-friendly features. They offer a good variety of tournaments and excellent bonuses and promotions, as well a decent variety of poker games to choose from. Their customer service support is among the best in the industry.
Negative on the Network
The Bodog network sees very little competition outside of Texas Hold'em games and outside of peak hours, there are not a lot of games. While their customer service is good, they do not offer a live chat option. Players are only able to play a maximum of three tables simultaneously.
Bodog Network
Bodog.com Entertainment was established in 1994. It is licensed in the United Kingdom and in Kahnawake by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. Bodog Entertainment released its poker room, Bodog Poker in 2004. Bodog Poker accepts US players to its poker room. Bodog Poker is the only poker room on the Bodog network. The Bodog network had a big boost in popularity in 2006 when Jamie Gold, who was sponsored by Bodog Poker took first place in the World Series of Poker Main Event. Gold is now a member of the Bodog team, along with Josh Arieh, David Williams and Evelyn Ng. In general, the Bodog network offers excellent promotions and it was rated number one for the best promotions in the industry and best customer service in 2006, by Casino Player Magazine. The Bodog software offers some useful and functional features including re-sizeable tables, multiple tables, full screen mode, a table felt color picker, quick seat option and a new instant play feature. Unfortunately, the maximum number of tables that you can play at one time is three which can be somewhat limiting. They provide a lot of information for their players on their poker room website.
Traffic on the Network
The Bodog network is a medium size network which sees approximately 1,000 players in their poker room at any time, although this fluctuates depending on the time of day. During peak hours (American night hours), you can find up to about 50 Hold'em tables and 10 Omaha tables which comes to a total of approximately 2,400 players during peak times. This brings Bodog Poker to within the top 10 to 15 online poker rooms available on the Internet. They have plenty of loose juicy games, especially at the lower limits which can be quite profitable for steady players.
Customer Service on the Network
The Bodog network poker room customer service support is available via email and telephone. They have a toll free number for the US and for other international calls. Customer service support is available 24 hours a day. Support is available in English, Spanish and Mandarin/ Cantonese. The customer service team is professional and efficient (though it can take up to a couple of hours for them to reply) and their answers tend to be helpful and accurate. BodogHelp is also a useful place to look for answers to some of your more general questions.
Games on the Network
Bodog network offers Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo and Five Card Stud. Players can choose between fixed limit, pot limit and no limit and full ring, short-handed and heads-up tables. The stakes range from $0.05/$0.10 up to $10/$20 in no limit Hold'em games.
